Callous Disregard price countdown

Maybe Wakefield could flog more copies of his "handy if you've got a wobbly table" book by advertising it as "It's almost as cheap as bog roll."

It's currently available on Amazon.com, hardback, new, at $8.95. That's £5.67 at today's rate (from xe.com).

Price: £13.33 on Amazon co uk. So why are you lying? It’s a good book, although someone like you could never read it. It’s clear this subject does your body serious harm, and reinforcing what you believe and want to make others believe, takes up far more time than actually reading the book. I am not anti-vaccines and if you read the book you would know neither is Wakefield. All he
ever fought for was a safety first vaccine policy which still is not in place in the UK.
He recommended after the Lancet 12 investigations that children should receive single vaccines and not the MMR until further investigations were completed. He did not and never did recommend that concerned parents should not vaccinate at all.
The importation license for single vaccines was withdrawn by the department of health In August 1998, meaning choice was no longer available via the National Health Service. At a time when demand was greatest, the option for concerned parents was removed, effectively putting vaccination policy before the protection of children. Wakefield was never responsible for hundreds of deaths as you put it... that responsibility lies solely with the DoH and the British government.
Do you trust our government? If you do you're a fool. Do you know anything about the Urabe episode? The British government bought a vaccine in 1988 they knew produced high rates of meningitis and allowed our children to be injected with this vaccine because it was cheaper. The pharmaceutical company was worried about trying to obtain a license for this MMR in the UK because use of this strain in the vaccine had already proven to be unsafe in Canada and Japan. The government were informed of this and their reaction was to promise the manufacturers immunity from liability as long as they renamed the vaccine and produced it as quickly as possible. The vaccine was withdrawn in 1992 for safety reasons i.e. it produced high rates of meningitis... In a nutshell our government threw our children under the bus in order to cut costs!!!
(Tony Blair did not allow his son to be administered with the MMR ... why??)
If they covered up the risks with the urabe vaccine and the risk of anaphylaxis with re-exposure to the measles vaccine what makes you think they would admit that the MMR may trigger autism??????? Since the pharmaceutical company has already been given immunity the British government will be held liable for this tragedy. Can't you see what's happening here? Wakefield is on to them and the reason he has lost his job is to protect our majesty's government and an unsafe vaccine program.

Trust the fact that history will judge events honestly and Andrew Wakefield will have his day, even if it’s not in our lifetime. Too many Mothers believe this. Mother intuition is powerful. Without it we wouldn't be here.

Oh I see. You are quoting the American website price, because it’s cheaper and suits your rant. Why not the Amazon UK seeing as you convert it to ££? I will tell you why. You bend the truth and are selective and manipulative. This is why your whole blog is trash. This kind of 'being convenient with the truth' just adds to the misery for people who genuinely are not sure on this subject.

I'll cover your pro-Wakefield bollocks later, but the reason I'm quoting the US price is because I understand the book isn't supposed to be sold in the UK (according to the publishers).

Becky, I'm constantly amazed that you manage to remain as calm as you do in the face of the ill-considered rantings of your various (but strangely similar) 'guest' wingnuts... and that's before you delve into the mire of so-called vaccine awareness sites.

As for greg's pro-Wakefield bollocks... if he feels it was okay for Andy to have performed invasive procedures on children without valid consent or ethics panel approval, to have falsified his results and lied about his research and the various conflict of interests, then I don't think any amount of explanation is going to convince him... oh, unless a mother's intuition comes into play... that obviously trumps facts.

When do you think Andy is going to present his 'evidence' countering the charges against him, greg? I'd have thought the GMC hearing would have been the best time... or perhaps in his book... but perhaps the nearly three dozen charges that were found proven (including four counts of dishonesty and 12 involving the abuse of developmentally-challenged children. Eleven counts concerned "high risk" research performed without ethical approval; nine of causing such research to be carried out contrary to the children's clinical interests; three of causing children to undergo lumbar puncture which was not warranted; and three of him ordering medical tests without the necessary qualifications and in breach of his non-clinical employment contract), was just too much for him?

One reason that the silly book is not supposed to be sold in the UK might be the libel law. Though I am pretty sure that Brian Deer has plenty of evidence without the book to sue several characters that have been mentioned on this blog.

Deer Impostor, that is old news, and, many of us agree that it was Too Little, Too Late.

Unfortunately that was the MMR vaccine with the Urabe mumps strain. Because of the cases of meningitis caused by the Urabe mumps strain in the old MMR vaccine, the UK switched to another MMR vaccine.

The MMR vaccine used in the UK since 1992 has the Jeryl Lynn strain of the mumps component. It is the American version of MMR that was approved for use in 1971. This version of the MMR vaccine does not have the same level of meningitis as a vaccine reactions (even still, the Urabe version of the MMR still caused much fewer cases of meningitis than measles or mumps, the actual diseases).

Now, Mr. Not Deer, if you have actual evidence that the MMR vaccine that has been used in the USA since 1971 and the UK since 1992 has a greater risk than the actual diseases of measles (1 out of 1000 chance of either permanent disability or death), mumps (1 out of 10000 chance of meningitis, deafness or infertility) and rubella (a pregnant woman is guaranteed to have a child with congenital rubella disorder, a child with CRS will suffer from mental impairment, blindness, etc to being stillborn). The evidence must be of a certain caliber, so no random websites, news stories or papers that have been retracted.

You really don't get it, do you "Brian". The JabsLoonies of the title refers to the mental regulars of JABS - and other anti-vax sites, and their ludicrous outpourings - you try reading some of Gus The Fuss's postings, or John "Cock" Stone's feeble attempts to smear all and sundry with a straight face. It also refers to the arseholes who present the most abysmal and cock-eyed ideas as science and expect to be taken seriously. Like you.

Deer Impostor, I noticed you have no point. Why should I look deeper into what you are saying? You are cribbing off of ten year old Scudamore shtick.

Dude, I have read it all before on Usenet from the original loon, the pig farmer who runs the whale.to website. I remember fondly the day he sent many of us into peels of laughter when he told us how to protect ourselves from satanic ley lines like the one that burned his bum in his basement... while he was under the influence.

Deer Impostor, get some original material. Here is an idea, how about some actual data!
